San Francisco, CA – January 28, 2026 – Heidi, the fast-growing healthcare AI company, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Nancy Cibotti as its U.S.-based Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), bringing decades of experience in primary care, healthcare innovation, and leadership to the company as it continues to expand its footprint in the United States.
Dr. Cibotti joins Heidi from Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), where she served as Associate Chief Medical Information Officer and Chief Innovation Officer of Primary Care, helping launch virtual primary care programs, implement ambient AI scribes, and lead system wide electronic health record (EHR) transformations. Previously, she spent more than 20 years as a primary care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Cibotti also served as Market Medical Director at successful health tech startup Iora Health during its early growth phase, where she helped scale a value based primary care model through new practice launches, clinician education, and population focused care.
“I first came to know Heidi as a clinician and health system leader, and it was a true game changer,” said Dr. Cibotti. “My experience with Heidi is that it doesn’t just reduce documentation burden, it gives clinicians back control, reduces cognitive load, and allows us to be fully present with patients. I’m excited to help scale that impact and shape Heidi’s evolution as an AI care partner.”
In her role as CMIO, Dr. Cibotti will focus on deep clinical workflow integration, EHR partnerships, and supporting Heidi’s growth across U.S. health systems, ensuring the company’s AI solutions are adopted thoughtfully and safely. The company already partners with several leading health systems in the country as an AI care partner, including MaineGeneral and BILH. Notably, in the last 18 months, Heidi has supported 16.7 million consults across the United States, saving clinicians and nurses more than 4.5 millions hours.
“Dr. Cibotti brings a crucial combination of frontline clinical experience and health IT leadership to our company,” said Dr. Thomas Kelly, CEO & co-founder at Heidi. “Her perspective will be instrumental as we evolve our platform and continue building our tools with the clinician experience front of mind.”
